@Mortalblood it's no the ideal way to get your sleep in.. but it's better than only getting that initial 2 and a half hours.

The only issue you might run into is not getting into your deep REM slow wave sleep. That's probably when you get the most benefit from your sleep in terms of how if affects your hormones etc.

Of course then you might have the issue where if you sleep during the day on Sunday, it affects your night time sleep as well for the next day. So I would say try and make it so you don't go out the day before work.. maybe go out Friday night instead if you 'have' to go out, so you don't have to get up for work on Saturday? Or just don't go out as late.

At the end of the day it's your choice, and once a week won't be terrible. But it could have somewhat of an impact. In moderation, if you don't notice any major side-effects, I wouldn't worry about it.

Hey Mortalblood,

In an ideal world, you would get your proper sleep Monday-Sunday. But if this is the current situation and there are no solutions, we must deal with the problems accordingly. My recommendation? Train during week-days only. A classic upper/lower routine, full body 2x or 3x would be perfect. I would also recommend eating in a calorie surplus on Sunday to further assist in the recovery process since you missed out on sleep. Finally, try to incorporate naps despite not sleeping a full 8 hours. You won't get all the benefits of a regular sleep schedule, but it should still help a bit. One final tip, consider having caffeine/coffee on your low sleep days. Although it is a mask to the greater issue, you will feel better this way. Hope this helps!
