Hey guys. Its been 2 months since i hit the gym. I've lost 8kg (72kg atm with 173cm height) and 1cm of waist (86cm now).

I have increased the weight i use too, but since then, my back hurts more while doing the exercises, specially during dumbbell flys and ofc all other exercises.

I have Lumbar Scoliosis, which means my spine is curved and hurts real bad when i carry high weights (relative, 20-30Lb). Thing is, should i drop the weight? should i just stay where i am? My goal is to be lean, not to be a BRO with super muscles or should i change the excersises?

Please, help me out with this because the pain is stopping me from finishing my routine. :(

@Dideroth have you seen a doctor/specialist about your scoliosis? Is there a way you can fix it without surgery? Or do you just have to find ways to work around it in the meantime?

If the weight is an issue, your best bet is to probably drop the weight for now, focus on form, and just use a slower tempo in order to still get a good workout in. You say it hurts with 'all other exercises'.. so does that mean literally every exercise you do, you feel pain?

Hi, Scott!

No, i haven't visited a doctor. I should, though.

The exercises that causes most pain are those where the back is involved.

For example, dumbbell flys...incline version too where i have to pack my shoulderblades i feel that my right shoulderblade is in pain.

I would definitely suggest seeing a specialist about it then. I mean, you could not do flys.. but if it is shoulder packing that hurts, that kind of elimiates most chest movements 😕

Does it make a difference if you specifically warm-up that area? Have you looked online for any rehab exercises you can do for scoliosis?
