What's up Nation!

I feel like lately I am looking better than ever. I am hitting traps and calves multiple times a week which I am seeing impressive gains. Not where I want to be yet, but the changes are noticeable so that is a start.

Aside from hitting each part twice a week, I have really stepped up my creatine and BCAAs. I used to take them here and there to be honest, but for the last month I have been HARDCORE about BCAAs in the morning and during my workouts and taking creatine before and after my workouts.

Just incase you are wondering, I use @BSN AMINO-X (BCAAs) and CELL MASS (Creatine)

Even if I get to the gym feeling sluggish and tired, I can take a shot of cell mass and it just kickstarts my body.

What are your thoughts Nation? I think it would be great for beginners to see what results some of the other seasoned Hermanites in our community have been getting with these products as they seem to be the most talked about next to protein and mass gainers.

Hey Scoott! I've been watching your videos, pretty much all of them, and I have to admit that I've seen a lot of progress in my body, more than ever I gotta say THank you! You've been a great inspiration. I just have one question: In your personal opinion, How often should I train a muscle group? Just to put you and example when I'm standing right now, I train chest, intensively, once a week. Any suggestion? I would really appreciate it !

Alright scott keep making those gains. If you train hard and put in the work you will get where you want to be as you know this. I am new to bcaa's and just started them so it's still expiramental for me. Not sure I spelled that right but it didn't auto correct me lol! I love the energy and how I feel as long as I don't get dehydrated. Creatine I have always thought worked nice even though I don't really get an energy boost that I notice but like with anything I cycle on and off. Don't care for the water retention although it's not much I notice it. Just got to train hard and train right and there's nothing wrong with supplements as long as you stay clean.

I have been training coming up on 6 years and have made some great gainz. I've done a lot of trial and error on myself as well as learned from others and through research online. I've come along way in strength and size since I've started. I will continue to learn and make myself better each day. hey brotha welcome to the forums! Just to give you some input on your questions. You will eventually find what works best for you and what you like to do with all the knowledge you will take in. You will do best training your muscles 2-3 times a week but no more than 3 times. You will get the best gains. Always give yourself 24-48 hours for muscle recovery and compound lifts will be your best friend using isolation only for finishers or to work on muscles you feel are lagging. Don't isolate the same muscle groups 2 days in a row or do the same compound lifts 2 days in a row just be sure to let yourself get at leat 1 day rest for them between the lifts. Get on your macros because nutrition will be your friend as well. I recc 4-5 days a week lifting and always give yourself 1 day a week completely off for rest. Lots of good guys here with plenty of good info for you.

good job scott keep up the beastmode! i just wanted to know if it is really that bad for a teenager to take creatine. I know many people, some of them my teamates, who are on creatine as a freshman in highschool (14-15 years old). they are making crazy gains and are growing stronger and faster. i just wondered if its safe first of all, what kinds to use, and what the dosages are.

Yeah it depends on what creatine you are using. I use @BSN CELL MASS which contains CON-CRETE creatine which is HCL based, no bloating, no water retention. You don't need to cycle creatine or BCAAs either.

Thanks for the kind words too. Training is paying off too. I am leaner and stronger than ever!!

You are looking awesome too man! Keep up the great work!

Thanks @TheCogzter!

So here is the rundown on creatine. It is a naturally occuring substane already in your body. It DOES NOT grow your muscle. However it is responsible for helping you recover quicker and having more energy during your workouts which can result in more muscle growth because you are training harder.

If anything, they are making crazy gain because they are working hard, but also hitting growth spurts

Just take a product like @BSN CELL MASS, one scoop a day before workouts.

Hope this helps!

Idk if its true tho, but i stoped taking both and I feel amazing tho. Took a heart test today because that night at the hosptial my heart rate was 40 BPM at rest when its suppose to be 75.

H-Nation,

This illustrates a point that concerns me. Just because something is natural doesn't mean it is safe. Ginseng is a natural herb stimulant but it can kill you in the right dose. If you sit down and drink 2 gallons of water in one sitting you will die from kidney failure. The issue is the "right" dose is different for everyone because everyone's body chemistry is different for the most part. People tend to assume if a little is good then more must be better. This is the case with everything. Add in the fact that the supplement industry is unregulated and not controlled by the FDA the potential for injury increases - case in point many weight loss and stimulant supplements have been pulled off the market in the past by the FDA AFTER people were injured or killed.

Moderation is the key and knowing your body. Rishi's case above illustrates how creatine - a safe and natural supplement - affected him. I don't know what dosages he was using but I am sure he wasn't ingesting tons of the stuff. The same with BCAAs. I am a big fan and use them myself. However, if you overdo it or take too much protein in any form you will cause harm to yourself. The degree and extent depends on your individual body chemistry, sensitivities, and dosages.

The bottom line is to remember a few things when using "natural" supplements:

1) Natural does not always mean safe

2) Supplement companies are not monitored or regulated so they can put whatever they want into something

3) Supplement companies are "for profit" which means the more you use, the more you buy and the more money they make. Most of their recommended dosages are bullshit because they want you to use the product faster so you buy more sooner. Examples are Creatine loading, taking protein powders with every meal, etc Use common sense and stop using any supplement if you are feeling any adverse effects.

Yeah John, I was really surprised when @Rishi_Ramsamooj said his doctor told him it was the creatine.

Great post. Everything in moderation for sure. You really need to learn your body and not apply what works for someone else to yourself. You can maybe use what others do as a recomendation to find a starting point, but at the end of the day you never know how your body is going to react to something until you try it. With that being said, you should always be monitoring your body and listening to it.

For example, if you take a pre-workout and it feels like your insides are melting... that doesn't mean the pre-workout is "kicking in". It means you probably shouldn't take it or you took way to much.

Scott,

This doesn't surprise me at all. BUN is Blood Urea Nitrogen which measures the bi-products of protein metabolism by the liver. Creatine is metabolized into creatinine which is cleared by the glomuruli in the kidneys and raises BUN. High protein diets increase your BUN and adding creatine supplementation on top of that really stresses your kidneys and causes dehydration. All these people that keep saying "creatine is the most studied, safest, effective supplement on the market" forget that everyone's bodies are different. Hydration is critical with increased protein diets and creatine makes hydration needs extra high. Even though one feels they are hydrated enough and don't always feel thirsty, doesn't mean they are hydrated enough. This is just another reason why I am not a fan of creatine - the amount you need to see positive effects even if it is not substantial stresses the underlying urinary system. Diabetes doesn't happen overnight. It takes years of stressing your pancreas and decreasing your insulin sensitivity thru poor diet and high sugar to cause it. Who says that constant strain of the kidneys, even if it is within "normal" parameters, over time won't lead to nephritis or some other kidney ailment.
