Hey everybody. Just when I was more motivated I get an ankle sprain... so I have to stop going to the swimming course and I have to stop running. My question is: I was trying to gain some muscle and now Christmas is coming so... If I keep working on my upper body and something in my legs (I think right now I can only do pistol squats), eating a lot of food because it's Christmas and stopping my cardio, can I gain some weight? Or it would be better stop working until I recover from my ankle sprain?

Thanks everybody!

Thanks everybody!

I actually went through this situation a few months back. Personally i just kept eating, and working out upper body and for legs i just dealt with the pain and did what i could. I didn't have any setbacks so depending on your pain tolerance I would keep doing what you can!

For legs i was able to do Leg Extensions, Leg curls, light leg press, and stiff leg dead lifts, i wasnt able to do any squats for about 2 weeks but luckily it healed quickly. I wish you a speedy recovery man!

Great response Jon.

Ankle sprains suck. One time I just hopped around on one foot machine to machine to get my workout in. I didn't care.

As long as you continue to eat right and train as best you can you will be ok.

Just don't FORCE IT if there is a lot of pain and be sure to ice it 20minutes on, 10 minutes off, repeat 2 - 3 times when you get home.

I am sure you will be back on your feet in no time! #HTH
