Ive been working with the 5 day bodybuilding split and I have been consistently increasing the weights as I go but I’ve run into a bit on an issue on day 2 of the split (back, biceps, and obliques). I first noticed this when I was doing floor wipers at the end of my workout. My gym doesn’t allow for lying down in areas near machines and since the barbells were otherwise occupied I laid on my back in a T pose to stabilize myself during the exercise. A few reps in I felt something almost like a tinglingin the belly of my left forearm and then I felt something give out (felt almost like a pop) followed by sharp, stabbing pains in the surrounding area. I got ice on it fairly quickly and within an hour or two it was feeling ok again. The pain seemed to be linked to rotation of my forearm as I could perform the motion of a bicep curl with no major discomfort. I thought it was a freak incident but recently as I increase the weight in some of my other exercises like the lat pull down or hanging oblique exercises I feel the beginnings of that same sensation in my forearm. Does anyone know what this might be or how to properly address it? The pain from the first occurrence went away fairy quickly but I don’t want to ignore it and cause a more serious injury down the road

@jarodm226 That's weird.. so is it from pronation of the forearm mostly? If you can do supinated curls without pain, I'm guessing it's when you make that twist from supination to pronation? Because that's where you would be for lat pulldowns or your hanging oblique movements.

It's hard to say what it might be.. is it the top of your forearm (extensors) or the under-side of your forearm (flexors)? Have you noticed any tightness in there?

It's the underside of the forearm that hurts. I don't know if it's helpful but on the occasions where I experience the pain it usually comes fairly far into the routine when my forearms are feeling extremely pumped, almost to the point where my skin feels really tight. Outside of exercises I havent noticed much tension in that area.

@jarodm226 from how you describe it.. it almost sounds like it's just the pump and forearm burn/forearm fatigue that you tend to get when going through your workout, gripping everything super hard.
