so ive been using supplements for about a month and a half ago and really only used my ON BCAA mix and just recently started using my pre workout, i don't hate it but the itchy feeling is a tad uncomfortable so if there is an alternative id like to take that. And so my buddy told me i should try creatine. and i'm a little intimidated by it and dont really know what it dose and when to use it. ive looked up what it dose but that just made me more confused. i havent started to use protein because i was told i dont need to yet, but i plan on in a month or so would that interfere with the creatine? sorry bout the rambling im new to this and fitness so im fairly uneducated about the topic right now.

Thanks in advance for the help.

@Turslay Pre-workout, BCAAs and Creatine are very different. Pre-workout often has beta alanine in it and that's what will be causing you to get itchy / get tingles. Creatine (depending on what you buy) is generally just creatine monohydrate and doesn't have anything else in it.

Protein won't interfere with your creatine, in face with most protein powders you get, a lot of them have about 3g or so of creatine per serving.

In terms of what supplements you should take, it depends on your goal and diet. Use protein if you're not getting enough from real food. If you're trying to gain strength and size, creatine is one of the best supplements you can take. Pre-workout is pretty optional, if you feel like some days you need an extra kick of energy. BCAAs might be something you want during a cut, but might not be as important while bulking.

Also depends on your money situation - if money is no issue and you want to use them all, there's nothing wrong with that - just make sure your overall @mealplan is in order!

When is the ideal time to take micronized monohydrate creatine? I've been told I can take it whenever and the guy at the supplement store told me he takes it in the morning although he trains in the late afternoon..(I take it in the morning before work and I workout late at night) thoughts? Thanks :

@johnnewman He's right, you can take it any time. I generally take it after my workouts, but it really doesn't matter - you can take it in the morning, in the evening, before training, after training - any time!

This must have some effect on diet and physical needs. There must be a way how it effects on the body depending on when it is taken.
