Bulk or Cut for 25% BF Teen

Would it be wise to lean bulk at this BF (200-300 above maintenance) or to cut down to around 15% BF?

i really want the bear mode look that Alex from Alphadestiny promotes.

I love making gainz in the gym and really dont want to waste my novice gains on a cut

I would recomp but im not optimizing fat loss or muscle gain but doing both at the same time very slowly

In summary:

Bulk or Cut or Recomp?

At 5'10, 15 yo, 200lbs, around 25-27% Body Fat using a smart watch weight scale that might not be accurate

1 Rep Maxes:

bench: 190lbs

squat: 270lbs

deadlift: 310lbs

ohp: 135

@VishnuVerma At 15, it's not really a good idea to be cutting.. but your body fat percentage is a little bit high, so it's a tough one.

What are your current macros and calories daily?

You are most likely definitely still in your newbie phase where you can gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. If your bf % numbers are accurate, I'd suggest eating at maintenance for a little while to hopefully cut down your body fat while still being able to gain muscle.

currently eating 2400 calories, checked on various different websites and found my TDEE to be around 2800 calories (which I gain a couple pounds from when i do eat at this, went from 194 to 199.7 in 2 days of just eating at that much)

I am eating:

150g Protein

200g Carbs

66g Fat

With 2-3 servings of fruit and veggies

I do 3 rounds of 3-4min jump rope everyday for cardio

I do fullbody x3 a week

@VishnuVerma Your macros don't add up to your total calorie intake. Based on those macros, you're only getting 1994 calories. Even for cutting, it sounds WAY too low for someone your age.

Honestly, I would increase those numbers a bit. Aim for at least 1.2g - 1.5g protein per pound of lean body weight. Maybe bump up the fats a little bit. Try getting back to at least maintenance too so you can, like I said, hopefully lose fat while building muscle.

240g carbs (usually higher)

80g fat (usually lower)

@VishnuVerma that sounds better!

See how you go with those numbers for a while. I think the key would be not to get into a deficit just yet, and to see if you can lose fat at maintenance while building muscle.

If you notice you aren't really losing fat on those numbers, try lowering the carbs and boosting the fats.

Then if the fat still doesn't really budge, it might mean you need to do a quick cut over 4-8 weeks to get your body fat % under 20% before going back to a lean bulk.

Hope that helps!

Update:

My body fat has significantly dropped

AND

My lifts have skyrocketed strengthwise (for me at least its a lot)

Current 1RMs:

Deadlifts = 360lbs Double Overhand

Bench = 205lbs Paused

Box Squat = 295lbs

Seated OHP = 160lbs

I got this by eating about 3000 calories per day and being active every single day (workout 1 day, light cardio on rest days)

Using the westside conjugate method currently to up my strength.
