I am 17 and currently weight 175. I would like to gain 5-10 more pounds. I ran the power building 101 program for a month and saw good results. I don’t know which program I should run to better build strength and explosiveness for the sport I am training for. Thanks for all the help in advance!

@ZayneFlaherty24 well.. you may as well run the powerbuilding program right through before you switch. What sport are your training for? The powerbuilding program and the PPL program would both be good options if you're looking to build strength and explosiveness.

I am training for football (American Football) before I did the first month of power building 101 I weighed 160 (starting eating more healthier food to try and pack in the calories) I benched 195 and squatted 365. After that month I weighed 175 and I tested my Max and benched 215 and squatted 400. I also workout at school In offseason, the coaches have us do really high weight and low reps. (3x3, 5x5, 5x3x1) I don’t know what would be a better program to chose, the power building 101 doesn’t have as much frequency as the PPL would have if let’s say if I worked out 5 days a week and did 2 pushes 1 pull and 2 legs. I might be seeing these gains because I’ve mever worked out except in school.

@ZayneFlaherty24 well either way, you may as well stay on the powerbuilding program - you have made some AWESOME progress in your lifts man!! Great work! It's probably a bit more similar to your in-season training too - the PPL would be good if you wanted to focus on a bit more mass for awhile, while still working on your strength though. Maybe you can move to that next?

Which of the two program is more focused on strength? And by mass do you mean muscle mass? I still am wanting to gain about 5-10 more pounds though.

@ZayneFlaherty24 Powerbuilding 101 has a stronger strength focus. It's more of an addition to the PPL program. Yes I mean muscle mass. With the progress you are seeing with the powerbuilding program, like I have already said, I don't see any reason why you should stop doing it now while you're still seeing progress.
