Hello there,

I posted it earlier about my diet plan and got some help that made me think on my new diet to cut! im 88 kg right now, and according to the website I can lose weight at 2500 cal a day. I superset 4 days a week and do 2 or 3 hiit workouts. Anyways, my first question is will I lose muscle at a 500 calorie deficiet?

I am planing to cut at 2500 with the following macros. workout days 40/40/20 PRO/CARBS/FATS.

non workout days 40/30/30...since I do not need to much carbs. Any suggestions will be good.

thanks!

You need to start from the amount of calories you're eating right now and slowly decrease your calories to that 2500. That will help you maintain muscle.

Jorge,

You shouldn't but with intense workouts you may need to make the deficit only 250 calories. HIRT - High Intensity Resistance Training (high volume wieght training with small rest intervals) is something I do in all 4 of my workouts each week. I eat a moderately high protein and fat diet with low carbs (40/40/20). Sometimes I need to bump up the carbs and/or have a carb re-feed day when I feel a bit "flat" or if I am not recovering as well from my workouts which are very intense.

You will need to see how your body responds but don't be afraid to raise the deficit to 250 calories if 500 is too much.
