I was curious on what the best foods would be for toning my body. I'm still trying to gain muscle but I really want to get that shredded/toned look. I do eat a little carbs before and after my workout. Would you suggest more protein and healthy fats over a large carb diet?

Matt,

Being tone is a function of muscular conditioning. Being lean is a function of diet. They are two separate but related things :-)

Exercise will make you tone and eating a nutritious diet with sufficient micro and macro nutrients and controlled amounts of carbs to minimize insulin spikes will make you lean.

You can eat eggs before your workout as it helps to gain muscles very fast. You should have atleast 4-5 boiled eggs a day.

I wouldn't say eggs help gain muscle really fast. Steroids do. Eggs have protein, just like any other protein source.

But to answer @MattMiller 's question, you should check out the meal plan page to set up your macros according to your goals. Track your calories and macros with Scott's app, or if you don't have platinum you can use something like myfitnesspal. Get a food scale to weigh your food. You really just need to be in a caloric deficit to get the shredded look.

Side note. There's not really any point in getting shredded unless you've built a solid base and you're competing for a show or doing a photoshoot. Without a good amount of muscle you won't have the shredded look. You will just be really low in bodyfat. And there's no such thing as toning.
