I'm trying to up my daily fat intake, as at the moment I'm falling quite short of my goal of reaching 90-100g fat per day. What are some of the best ways to boost my daily fat intake?

One way to up your intake is to eat foods such as olive oil, nuts, fish (tuna, salmon, sardines, mackeral), coconut oil, egg yolks.
A simple way to implement this is to try cook your meat with olive oil. Another way that would be very simple and requires only money is to buy tuna in olive oil although I would only do this as a last resort since canned foods aren't that good for you especially in the long run.

Hey mate,

Andy gave you some great suggestions but here are some things I would add:

  • Avocado
  • Whole milk - preferably organic
  • Raw butter - preferably organic
  • Higher sat fat meats such as red meat
  • Full fat greek yogurt

You want to cook with coconut oil NOT virgin olive oil as olive oil denatures at higher temperatures which decreases the overall quality of absorption whilst coconut oil does not. Try and use olive oil as a dressing.

The whole milk and raw butter are quite extreme ideas in terms of fat loss, however, if they are implemented correctly can be great aids. I read somewhere the other day that 17% of butter goes straight to the liver for fuel; killing things like bacteria whilst 0% of veg oil does this.

Andy and Daniel are spot on. I use a lot of olive oil, coconut oil, and whole eggs.

Awesome thanks for the ideas.

I have started adding extra virgin olive oil (that's all we have at the moment haha) to my cooking, by chucking it in with some vegetables in a frying pan and just stir-frying my veges. I assume that is more or less the same as if I were to use it when cooking my meat.

Jordon,

That is what I do. I cook my eggs, fish, and chicken in EV Olive oil. I also put some coconut oil on my brown rice.

Agreed with all the comments but I also like to add peanut butter for calories. Sometimes the oils just aren't enough for me and eating tons of carbs sucks for calories at times.
