Getting into the industry?

Realised that fitness is my passion and was wondering how to get into the industry.

So basically I would like to get into the fitness industry, like working with companies and promoting their products. Was wondering how to get into the industry without spending a fortune. It seems impossible but I want this to happen. Gym is my passion and I want to turn that passion into something I can make a living from. What do you guys think?

So you want to be a sponsored athlete you mean? At the end of the day, as much as it might suck to a certain extent, it's about followings these days. If you want to get in with a company and be sponsored, you have to offer them something, and these days that something is exposure to tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or millions of people.

So my best piece of advice would be start doing something that is going to help people, to give people value, so that you get that following, and then show businesses/companies what you can offer them. Show them why it would be smart on their part to sponsor you.

Yeah that's what I thought and like it's tough to get a big following these days with so many people trying to achieve it. What do you think about doign a PT course and becoming a PT? Heard it's tough to make a living out of it unless you make a huge break

It's not a bad idea to get some kind of qualification if your goal is to be a personal trainer. If you think it's going to help you or that you need it, go for it, but if you just want to be a PT, I wouldn't study it fulltime at college for years and years. Just do something of quality like the NASM, and maybe a few other courses here and there that look useful.

It depends what you want to be able to do, and whether or not you think having a college degree in it, for example, would make you more appealing than others in the field.
