Is Arachidonic Acid dangerous or just good for muscle growth?- My bad on the thread title i f... it up

I was doing some research on a supplement called Factor-X which is a Arachidonic Acid supplement. It was said to induce drastic gains in muscle size and increase anabolism (like a lot of supplements out there), but i have never seen any supplements with this ingredient in it. I did some research on it and i found out what it is, is an Omega 6 fatty acid that induces inflammation (actually promoting DOMS after excercise) and supports anabolic functions in muscle cells. And this is supposed to promote muscle growth which makes sense, but after doing some research i came across other articles that Arachidonic Acid is linked to prostate cancer, and other articles saying that it wasnt. But either way this kind of worries be because this isnt like a test booster where it will cause acne, or unwanted hair growth, or running into a supplement that may cause another inconvience like bloating or stomach irritation...this is CANCER.

Did someone try it before?

Is it worth it?

Rafael,

I would avoid this junk like the plague. First off, you don't know what is really in this stuff since supplements are unregulated. Second, Omega 6 is a leading cause of diseases like cancer, heart disease, dementia, etc in America - not because Omega 6 is bad but because we get way too much in our diets already. The ideal Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio should be no more than 4:1. In the U.S., people are getting 40:1 hence excess inflammation and the diseases associated with it. Increased inflammation is not anabolic and any logic or science they market behind this product is pure BS.

Just eat a nutritious diet, train wisely, get plenty of rest and your hormone levels and growth rates will take care of themselves. There is only one group of "supplements" proven to provide results and that is anabolic steroids and growth hormone. All these other BS supplements, except for protein powders and creatine, trying to provide similar results or trying to do what they do are useless at best and at a minimum potentially dangerous.
