I've been pondering on buying a Mass Gainer as having sufficient amount of calories to gain mass has been fairly difficult for me, Okay so I only weigh 125lb and I've heard I need at least around 2500 cals to be able to gain any amount of weight, But it's really difficult consuming that much of calories imo, Especially with having a job that makes it difficult to actually take time to sit and eat, I was wondering on getting a mass gainer to help with the extra 700 cals that I might need but I'm worried I won't be able to get enough protein and might just end up getting too much fat instead, Should I try better on gaining clean calories from eating just food or should I buy a Mass Gainer to help? Any thoughts would appreciate it! ðŸ˜

You want to get as many calories from whole food as you can first and foremost. If you REALLY need the mass gainer, it's OK as long as you got the majority of your diet figured out first, and you were simply no-where near that 2500 calorie mark.

What you could do is simply make your own shakes. Some staples I normally suggest are oats, peanut butter, fruits (berries, banana), veges (spinach), maybe even some nuts or oil, milk, and protein powder. If you made a shake with all that, and maybe doubled up on some ingredients, you'd have an easy 500 calories right there, as one example.

But if that's really too much effort, or you don't have the option to have those foods, then maybe a mass gainer is what you need. When I have used them in the past I used BSN True Mass. If you're worried about protein, you might want to invest in a protein powder if you haven't yet. For you being 125lbs, you probably want about 1g-1.3g protein per pound of bodyweight. So about 150g-170g would be a good target for now, and then you can increase it as you gain weight and need more calories.

Thanks for the help Scott, Yeah I have ON Whey and I normally do shakes with Peanut Butter,Bananas,Rolled Oats, and milk but it still hadn't helped me increase in weight. Than again some days I just eat far to little I'm talking one meal a day or two. I guess it's just trying to eat more whole foods thanks Scott!

Yeah man real food is where it's at! If you want to grow, you gotta eat! Honestly it doesn't matter how many times per day you eat.. what really matters is your overall calories for the day. So if you are going to only eat once or twice, they have to be BIG meals 💪

HULK HD is Vegan, I think, and the taste is good:

You could probably find more examples by google searching "vegan mass gainer":

Unfortunately I don't think BSN has any vegan options for a mass gainer at the moment, so you might have to search around for another reputable company to buy from. I assume you are already eating a lot of nuts and peanut butter and avocado and things like that to get more calories in? Those are all good fat foods to give you a decent amount of easy calories.

Yes i consume avocados like everyday.. Still lack calories. I'm actually taking pea protein. Is it detrimental to consume another product like a mass gainer on the same day?

No it's not detrimental. If you need the mass gainer, definitely get it because at the end of the day you need the calories to grow. It's just you want to be sure you need it, and that you get as many of your macros from whole food first. But it sounds like you are!
