    Changing the workout program

    October 26, 2018, 1:17 pm

So I have watched videos that said I should change my workout program about every 6 weeks, or I should change the order of the exercises I am doing. So my question is can I workout for 6 weeks with one program , then change the order and 6 weeks later get back to the previous order and keep on switching between those 2? Or should I find a new workout program ?

    Hey Audxius,

In my opinion, you can go either route. You either repeat the entire program (if you feel it's still appropriate) or move onto the next. Just make sure not to program hop too much. I'd also advise keeping the systems rather similar (aka modifying exercises instead of changing the entire template completely). But to go back to your initial question, you should be good to go by alternating every 6 weeks with two similar programs. Hope this helps.

@audxius Alex is right! The other thing to keep in mind is that you only need to change a program if it's not working. If you're still making progress on a program, then stick with it for as long as you like. If you go 2-3 weeks without progress, then it's probably time to change some things.

That being said, if you're kind of bored of a program after 6 weeks, it's still OK to change it then as well, because you'll probably see more results from doing something you enjoy.

It stands for frequency, intensity, time, and type." Change up two of those every four to six weeks, and your workout will keep your scale moving in the right direction, he says. Still, that doesn't mean you should perform the same thing day after day for four to six weeks before moving on to something else.(indianworkouts)
