The workout that I have been doing has both Pullups & Chinups in it, but I can't do any. I have been climbing up on the bar and just trying for sets of 10 seconds. Does that help at all or should I be doing something else?

If you can jump up into the top position and lower yourself for like 3-5 secs, even if you only get 3 reps it will help strengthen. You can even use bands or the assisted pullup machine if ones accessible.

I have been training coming up on 6 years and have made some great gainz. I've done a lot of trial and error on myself as well as learned from others and through research online. I've come along way in strength and size since I've started. I will continue to learn and make myself better each day. Aaron has given you some good suggestions! Doing those jumping negatives or assisted pull-ups with a band would be your best bet to work up to doing full bodyweight pull-ups. You could still use those dead hangs for 10 seconds (or try hanging for even longer) as a finisher though.
