Cardio does not have to be a burden for people who simply do not enjoy it. I have practised some great technuiqes to ensure that whenever i need to do cardio i don't get bored. HIT cardio i am sure many of you have heard of. I love to do it on a bike, slow / moderate biking for 2 mins and as fast and hard as you can go for 30 secs. Do this for as long as you can do, i don't have the best endurance but I managed to do it for 1 hour. Next up is running in the wood. I don't know about you guyz and ladiez but I love the nature and especially the woods / forest. Just run for a good while, stop and gaze at the nature while you take a zip of water and run on. If you have friends who are willing to workout with you this is great ! Becuase know you can create challenges, for example: Who can run longest ? Who has the highest heart rate during the 30 second intervall and so on. If you don't have people who want to do this, do it with yourself ! Be determined to beat your own record every time you do your cardio !

Yes great tips. Doing your cardio training outside is a lot less boring than using the cardio equipment in the gym.  Using mobile phone apps to keep your progress keep me motivated too. (Runkeeper / nike+).  I want to try some circuit training some more, only this takes some more preparation. cardio training can almost be as much fun as weight training.

Question everything. MS Athlete

Great post William!

If I want to make cardio fun I like to do interval training on the sidewalk on a main street.

I wait until the light turns GREEN and then I race the cars.  Sometimes I win.... if there is traffic... haha... but seriously, it really helps me when I sprint because I do my best to keep up with the cars for as long as I can.

Great post man! I know so many people that can lift weights every day, but when it comes to cardio they just cant stand it. I believe in balance in anything whether it be ones daily life, their job, family time, working out, cardio, etc and eating habits. I like to go to the local park thats like 2 minutes from my house and jog the entire park about 4-6 times. This park is huge and there are so many friendly people that are out walking their dogs, not to mention all the fine females getting there exercise in as well. I only go to the park when its nice out though. One time I was about half way through my jog and it started pooring down raining, but you know what I just kept on jogging as quickly as I could to my car lol, just kidding! Seriously though I completed the jog in the rain because I knew it needed to be done and I felt great afterwards.

I love listening to music when I run. It helps so much when I think about my favorite drummer (Travis Barker) and how hard he works durning his songs and solos. I think to myself "It must take a lot of energy and cardio to be able to drum like that" and that just pushes me even more to try and catch up to the same intensity.

Also listening to songs that have slow to high tempos helps a lot too. I'll be running at a fast pace and then as soon as I know the crazy fast drum part is coming up I go balls to the wall and run with everything I got! It's a great way to train and build up endurance.

2 year #SHF athlete I love to train hard and help others when they want it.

Excellent advice William.  One suggestion if I may.  The "HI" in "HIIT" stands for high intensity.  HIIT should never be done longer than 20 minutes or your cortisol levels will spike and you will hault muscle growth and fat burn.  If you can do HIIT for 1 hour, it is not intense enough.  I would cut the rest time to 1 minute and bump the burn time to 45 seconds.  During that time it should be all out and the rest time shouldn't be too slow - just slow enough for your heart rate to lower until you hit it hard again.

I used to use the stationary bike a lot as well. I would be pouring in sweat by the end!
