In an effort to build plenty of muscle guys, we need a wide range of lifts. Don't limit yourself to just a few lifts and do those only, you could be missing out. Give your body a surprise and see if it doesn't exhaust your body quicker than your usual lifts. You may also be surprised how much you enjoy a new lift and it could invigorate some excitment in your gym efforts. You may also find the new lifts work even better than the lifts you have been doing.

I remember swearing off Incline Dumbbell bench but finally after years of neglect, I decided to do it and man I just LOVE it. It's a staple in my chest lifts now.

What are some examples of you trying new lifts and being pleasently surprised with just how effective it was? Share your thoughts.

I'm 27, I'm male, I'm trying to maintain a healthy but nice physique. I weigh about 195, 6'0 I've got four large passions in my life! Sports! My Lord and Savior! P.E.! And last but not least..... My wife! HTH! I have other goals, just ask if you want to know! My handle is Big Boss, but you can just call me Allan. Finally, always remember, HTH!

Great post BIGBOSS!  It's funny, whenever I just don't feel like doing a specific lift or routine anymore I know it is my body telling me that I need to change it up.

Almost like my body is saying, BRO.. I am tired of this routine, give me something new!!

What I have been doing lately is I have gone back to my BURN SETS, and although I am doing the same exercises, I am now using my 2.5 inch IRON BULL STRENGTH GRIPS on every exercise to help build more overall strength.  I have to drop the weight a bit, but I am anxious to see the results because research proves that you can increase your strength by 10% in 6 weeks from thick bar training!

I just wrote an article about it in the product reviews section :)

I completely agree ! When i have pull ups in my routines i do close grip the first time, wide grip the second time and normal grip the third time. Constantly activating new muscle fibers to maximize muscle growth !

Have never heard of trying three different grips for pull ups like that before, I've gotta give that a try sometime Will.

I like to chang up my grip as well on pull ups, I notice slight differences in which muscles are being used. I love the feeling of my lats flairing out when I do wide grip.

Oh man I HATED doing lunges with a passion. I dont know what it was but when i first started doing them I would immediateley sweat all over my body and just wanted to quit. I stopped doing them for a long time until a budy of mine noticed that i had stopped doing them in my routine (I was BUSTED!).

So he forced me to do them and we started with 50lbs on the bar and, like always, i was dying in a puddle of my own sweat. Then I was in the middle of my last set and I just couldnt finish. I wanted to quit so bad, and my buddy just kept telling me "Think of something majstic, like a gladiator in battle or something!" and I was like nope thats not working I'm just gonna quit. Thats when he told me "What if your fiance was getting mugged out in the parking lot right now, would you puss out then too?" and at that moment, i dont know what the hell happened but I looked him dead in the eye and was like "You're right!" and I lifted that flippin' bar with all my strength and I swear to god, I pushed out those last 6 reps so hard and fast it was AMAZING!

So now whenever I have leg day, I think back to that epic moment in the gym, and NEVER skip lunges!
