There are many supplements out there that are said to build muscle in a weeks time etc. Dont buy into that. Primarily you need to focus on your meal plan, but there are great supplements out there to boost the recovery process. My favorites are from BSN. Syntha 6 Isolate is loaded with high protein with low fats and carbs which is great for repairing broken down muscle tissue and promoting lean gains. BSN Amino X is a proprietary blend of amino acids that are vital for muscle growth and repair. BSN cell mass is a great recovery agent loaded with creatine and glutamine as well.

I guess this kind of fits into the recovery process, but it also ties with pre-workout....anyways, I been reading that the best way to recover quickly and maximise muscle gain is to take creatine after workout, but my pre-workout has creatine before workout, so I take creatine both before AND after? Wasn't really into creatine before so I'm kind of being introduced into the knowledge of it.

Great post Nate.  I use a lot of Optimum Nutrition products (sorry....not BSN) for my protein supplements for pre and post workout and before bed.  Anabol Naturals out of Santa Cruz, CA also has a great line of pharmaceutical grade Amino Acids and BCAA's.  As I stated in another post concerning women using Creatine, I am not a fan of it.  While I will not argue Creatine is the only supplement outside of protein that really works as advertised, I am not convinced on its long term safety for the kidneys and joints (ligiments/tendons) and I think it makes your body's own Creatine production pathways (from food) "lazy".  Just my opinion.......:-)

From what I read, carbs WITH protein after workouts is optimal and taking creatine before an after can be very benificial.

I personally do AMINO-X either during or immediately after my routine and feel like it really helps! :)

IT doesn't really matter when you take the creatine. You can take it before or after your workouts. Whatever works!

Carbs with protein are good pre workout too, helps stock and energize the body for the up coming energy expendature for working out. Afterwords is good for refueling.

Personal experience.

Is it recommended to mix your protein powder with AMINO-X in one shake for a good post-workout shake?
