Darren,

Losing body fat just takes time and persistence. Your body loses fat evenly across the entire body over time. This means the last areas to get lean are the ones with the most body fat to start. You might want to have a doctor test your testosterone and estrodiol (estrogen) levels just to make sure there are no hormonal issues. Sometimes, "moobs" or excessive fat in the breast/nipple area in males is indicative of a hormone imbalance. Both men and women have testosterone and estrogen. Obviously the ratio in males is weighted towards higher testosterone and lower estrogen. Sometimes this ratio gets out of wack due to many factors - diet, genetics, environmental factors, smoking, chemicals in plastics (like microwave food containers), and lack of sleep. Higher than normal estradiol levels in males can lead to gynecomastia - male breast development or "moobs".

I offer this more as a suggestion. In your case, 15 weeks is not nearly enough to lean out significantly. Unfortunately we all want things faster than they can realistically occur. If after 6 months to 1 year of following a strict nutrition plan and exercise routine you still have "moobs" or are not getting leaner and have increased muscle tone/development, I would then see a doctor for a hormone profile to see if that is the underlying cause.

You already got a good advice from John... Losing body fat is like building muscle... it takes time.. 15 weeks is not enough to have a great result.. you may lose some body fat within 15 weeks but the result will never lean as you want.. you will be lean soon but it takes time and discipline in the area of training and nutrition.

I'm also dealing with this problem currently and I'm seeing the improvements by following up few things-

1. Try to reduce your fat.

If you have moobs, you probably have belly fat and love handles too. You may not be fat overall but there still is unwanted fat on your body. Try to reduce it by maintaining a calorie deficit. Some people like us have a tendency to grow body fat in those unwanted areas. We just have to fight it by aiming to become lean.

2. Try to gain strenght

More strength ->You lift more weights ->You build more muscles ->You burn more fat

Compound exercises are best

3. Increase testosterone levels

More testosteron levels -> More strength -> You lift more weights -> You build more muscles -> You burn more fat

Look for natural supliments like Vit D, Zinc and Magnesium.

4. Decrease estrogen levels

I'm not able to focus on this because first three take up most of my time and consideration. There are certain foods that give rise to estrogen levels. Find them up using a google search and see if your diet has lots of them...?

5. Create distraction

If you develop muscles around your chest, its gonna look better. The muscle would at least create some distraction.

Good points @average_joe_007!

One thing I will say is that when it comes to estrogen, that will likely decrease as you get leaner. You're probably going to have better T levels when you are at a lower bodyfat %, compared with say somewhere around 20% or higher, when T levels can actually be hindered as estrogen becomes slightly more prominent.

So everything you talk about doing will help you lose fat.. and that will in turn help you decrese estrogen 😀

Thanks Scott! Its good to have your opinion which means I'm probably not on the wrong track. On a sidenote, I can't find a button to create a question on this forum. Is that feature even available in a gold membership?
