Hey Scott & Brian,

My name is Johan, I'm from South Africa, and I've been following you on youtube for quite a while, learning a lot of things regarding training and form, and it's been very helpful!

I come from a off-road motorbike background, racing nationally for about 10 years, then gave the racing up when studies got a bit hectic, and after both knee ACL tear injuries, and breaking my left foot badly, resulting in a fused foot bridge with 8 titanium screws and 2 plates, sounds crazy I know!

So my road to recovery has been long and I've learnt a lot of patience, but also with that a lot of knowledge thanks to all the rehab professionals 😄

So i've been training hard for the last 2-3 years, trying to build strength in my legs again, making up my own programs from what I learn online, and i've seen great progress, especially this year, but I started hitting a plateau with my big lifts, that's when I decided to subscribe to Muscular Strength, and try out the Power Building program. The way it is structured attracted me because I love strength training, looking good is just a bonus to me 😄

It's only been a week, but honestly i am enjoying it so much! Did the chest and triceps day this morning, and i havent been that exhausted in a while! When it came to the weighted dips, I was finished. I'm used to loading 25-30kg on my weight belt with dips, and my arms couldnt handle 10kg today 😃

I did the leg session yesterday, and for once I felt my right quad burn, for some reason the right quad (first knee to have ACL torn) just struggles to engage and feels like its not working. So it felt good to know it is doing something!

So thanks for all the info you guys post in the workout, i will keep on posting updated here as I progress.

Much love to the MS nation

@Boschie Hey Johan! Welcome to the site my friend!

Sorry to hear about the injuries man, the ACL tears are bad enough let alone having a now fused foot bridge! Sounds painful!

That's awesome that you've started using the Powerbuilding 101 program, Brian did a great job putting that together and I'm sure once you have run through the entire program you will notice an increase in all of your lifts! Getting that right quad to fire and burn is an added bonus too!

Look forward to hearing more AND seeing more about your progress man! Keep up the great work!

Thanks man, it's pretty cool to be on the site after following your channel for so long!

And yeah the injuries were unfortunate, but the risks come with the sport...which is fine, one just have to make it work and never stop pushing to grow stronger.

I will for sure post some more updates, I am finishing up on week two tomorrow, and it's going great so far! My body has adapted to the change in rep range and intensity so im at least not walking like a stiff penguin anymore 😄 I really like this program that Brian set up, it's super challenging, fun and can feel it works, only thing I had to add is core workouts in between some exercises
