What is creatine, do I need it to build muscle and do I need to cycle off it?

Creatine is a naturally occurring substance found in most meats, especially red meat.

Creatine is processed in the liver and stored locally in muscles cells. It helps increase the amount of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), a cellular energy source, local to the cell which increases muscular contraction STRENGTH and ENDURANCE.

Creatine (about 5g) can be taken BEFORE, or AFTER your workouts to replenish muscle stores. It can be mixed with a variety of beverages, including coffee or any caffeinated drink.

When taking creatine, stay hydrated and to stop taking it if you feel it's affecting you negatively. Some people "cycle" it by using it for 6-8 weeks then stopping. Others use it continually.
