The Two Week Challenge!

Two Weeks Without Sweets Or Salty Snacks? Learn How & Why!

Posted by William_Steinset - January 10th, 2015

What is this challenge about ?

I would like to encourage everyone who is reading this to try out the challenge. The holliday season is OVER. It is time to get back on track and to make sure that your mental focus gets in the right place. I have been eating and drinking unhealthy everyday for the last 2 weeks, because it was vacation time. However now it is time to get back on track and focus on reaching my goals again.

The challenge is straight forward: NO sweet or NO salty snacks / beverages for 2 weeks! This means no salty peanuts, no candy bars, no chocolate, no soda, NONE OF THAT. I have done this before and I think it is a great way to regain natural energy (as in few insulin spikes, no unatural sugars, and so on) and to make sure that you get back on track.

For me personally, because of my bad eating habbits over the last period of time. I will go for a MINIMUM of 2 weeks and then continue on untill a set date that I will figure out later.

Why is this challenge beneficial? For a number of reasons. This challenge might make you realise that this is not that hard and to limit yourself for the cravings is just an overall positive decision. Which essentially means that this can have a big impact on your life style. Moreover it is a challenge that clears your body of all the unatural products and feeds it with whole natural and healthy foods. Lastly, after the challenge you will get a good sense of accomplishment, thus making you feel good about your choise.

  1. No sweet drinks or snacks
  2. No salty snacks
  3. You are allowed to flavor your water, this means that coffee and tee are allowed.
  4. Chewing gum is allowed, because it is much more healthy to lower the sugar craving with a piece of gum than to give in to the craving.

Sweet & Salty

Questions you might have:

  1. Are you allowed to eat fruits? I mean, thouse are sweet and sugary!?
Yes, fruit is overall a healthy source for many micro nutrients, just like vegetables so those should be in your mealplan already!

  2. What if I am unable to do this?
Well, then you have a problem with artificial products, which means this challenge should be a must do, RIGHT NOW. This is not exactly an insane challenge of any sorts, it is a simple do not eat junk for 2 weeks challenge.

  3. What if I reach my 2 week goal but feel like I can keep going?
This is all about planning. If you know that you can go longer then I suggest that you do it. However set of a date where it ends, no matter what. Then go back to the old one cheat meal a week or one cheat day a week. Cheating on your diet is important to make sure that your mental health does not get screwed up. Everyone needs to be able to relax and have fun, as well as allowing themselves to have something that they want. Therefore set of a final date and end there.

  4. Is alcohol allowed?
No, because this is about cleansing your body and alcohol would do the exact opposite.

  5. Any last words or tips?
If you eat more fruit, chew some extra gum and drink more water you will hardly notice the sugar and salt craving during this challenge.
