About Me

Fitness has become a kind of love affair for me. When I was growing up I was a swimmer, a hardcore swimmer at a very young age. Training five days a week, 6am starts before school, at every swim meet my trainer could get me to and I was good too. With a few broken records under my belt, at the age of 9 years old they were talking about putting my forward to swim for my country - Scotland. But, my trainer began to put me a little to much, it was just because she saw my potential and she wanted me to reach it, they had me swimming with people twice my age and often beating them too. Soon, the pressure became to much for little 10 year old me, I got scared and began to shrink away from the competition and shortly after begged to stop competing. I have always been health conscious, through ups and quite a lot of downs in my teenage years I have found my place. I want to live a long and healthy life, be as strong as I can, and as motivational for myself and others as I can - all the while staying conscious of peoples limits. Making sure not to push them past them, but help them past them - just as I do for myself, I need help every now and then. Now, I am swimming once more, it's like riding a bike. For a while I used to say I hated "dry land exercise" weight lifting has never been in my regime, but thanks to someone (a very motivational person, especially when it come to fitness, clean eating and generally taking care of yourself in a healthy manner) I met a year ago whilst working for the Walt Disney Company in Orlando, Florida - I lift. I feel like I am part of a community, a very HEALTHY community, not only for your body but your mind as well. And when you feel like you are a part of something, you feel you have other to look to when you need motivation to move forward, you have a family. you may not know their names, or ever have met them, but you are in this together. So forget "getting wasted" and "man, I was so f*cked up I don't remember anything", I want to look after my body, be surrounded by people who want me to as well, live long, keep growing stronger - inside and out, help others and all in all - be a healthy, motivational, inspirational, kind, caring person, someone others can look to in times of need - a happy, person. Who makes others happy too. Stay strong nation! Scott and Erica, you are incredible inspiration, thank you for helping our generation be a healthy, strong, motivational, happy generation - who help others. Keep up the incredible work! And thank you Chris Dorward (Red) for introducing me to lifting, and the Hermanator. :) Never Stop Believing! Be who you are, but work towards the best version of you, you can be - then help others do the same! Aimee D.
