I've leveled up 41 times in my life, many times with moments of set backs and triumphs. Each and every experience point earned with blood, sweat, and tears. I wouldn't trade any of them because that is what has made me into the me I am now. My fitness journey is no exception. When I started though I was chasing the wrong thing and going about it the WRONG way. Over the last 2+ years I've learned a lot and made a lot of changes to what my goals are and my focus. Scott Herman has been a HUGE part of my continued mile stones and improvements. He is responsible for the foundation that was put down when I dove into this fitness experience that has transitioned into a way of life. His videos, articles / site resources, and the community have helped me figure many things out. Last year I participated in 2 of Scott's challenges with the mind set of I'm going to get shredded ...the 12 Week Push/Pull Program and his video that explained nutrition and macros 101 was a fantastic start. Then I started the next challenge for the summer that is where I learned my goals weren't right. I had personal family emergencies that derailed the focus. It was thru those emergencies and a few emails / community chats with Scott that I flipped the switch and realized I needed to incorporate health in my life style and accept the set backs the came along the way. FYI fitness and health is a marathon, not a sprint. Its a way of life. I am not sprinting to a 6 pack but when I achieve it, it will be LASTING! Fast forward a little over a year, I started a new weight training program but needed something at home ... something that I could do to help me with my mobility, flexibility, and get core/cardio in. Scott's Home Shred (HIIT mixed with body weight) was PERFECT and best of all flexible. I could change it up to help me work on weak points or avoid areas of soreness when I wasn't feeling my best. It was also mobile for when I traveled. I added it to my weight training 4 to 5 times a week, and it filled in what I was missing NICELY! As an added bonus, my kids saw me doing it and now I am happy to say they join in with me all the time now. I do use various weight programs from different coaches (verified credible - so many Wanna Be's out there) but the foundation I always return to and knowledge base that I can go to is due to Scott Herman and the community. Scott's been a good coach and I'd like to say, friend through this process. Amazing stuff and can honestly say I look forward to seeing what comes next!

Thanks again Scott for the help, the inspiration, the direction, and for being a friend.

I'm a busy, working mom of 5 kids. Four of the kids I gave birth to and I have an 11-year-old stepdaughter. We've got a set of 4-year-old twins and a set of 1 year old Irish Twins. So, we have 4 kids that are under 5 years old. Our life is chaotic, busy and there is never a dull moment. I’ve been pregnant for a lot of the last 5 years of my life. Between that, caring for little ones, and being a full-time social worker, my fitness goals had been neglected. Last fall I walked into my doctor's office and the nurse said, "Wow, you have lost 6 pounds since your last visit." I responded with, "When was that last visit?" Then she proceeded to tell me the date, and I thought to myself, "Oh, wow, I've lost 6 pounds since I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with my last child, that's not an accomplishment." So, I ventured out on my fitness journey to get more serious about my diet and fitness goals and get back into shape. I need to be able to keep up with my growing kids! I really committed myself to consistency and a clean diet. This meant, waking up at 4:30 in the morning to fit in my workout while my kids were sleeping, and obsessively calcuating what I was eating. It wasn't always easy. I found myself sitting in the parking lot of the gym having to self-talk myself to walking in the front door instead of going back to bed. It got easier as I saw the hard work paying off. Over the 12 weeks I lost 33 pounds, dropped my body fat by 6%, and increased my muscle mass by 3%. I am feeling great, enjoying the journey and looking forward to continued success and movement toward my goals.

This 12 weeks flew by and I never thought I would see such fast results. I've put on 23 pounds since the beginning, the most weight I have ever weighed. In the past I've always had problems putting on muscle mass, mainly due to the fact that I didn't know the importance of nutrition. That all changed when I found Scott's YouTube channel and website. I've learned so much in these last 12 weeks and has really changed my life. I use to eat nothing but garbage and drink 5 mountain dew every day. Never knew how easy it was to start eating right was but with the info Scott provides made it possible.

The 5 Day Building Split was crazy! Never felt such a pump before during my workouts. Even for someone like me who is new or just getting back to the gym after a long break. As long as you have proper nutrition and give this program 100% you will see results.

Looking forward to continuing my fitness journey and putting on more muscle than I have ever done before. Thank you to everyone who was in the challenge, this was a great community to be apart. Everyone is super helpful with keeping everyone motivated. Also thank you Scott for all your help and can't wait for your cheat and recover program!

When I first started the 12 week challenge I hated the way my body looked. My physical appearance had a big impact on my confidence. My confidence at the start was little to non. However, after watching your videos and following your 5 day bodybuilding split I feel and look so much better and I cannot be more grateful. Throughout my 12 week challenge I managed to lower my body fat percentage to a level my abs started to show (abs which I had never seen before in my life) and I also managed to put on some lean muscle. After the challenge I can now confidently say that I can remove my shirt without shame. I'm proud of what I have accomplished and without you I don't believe I would have started my fitness journey.

Thanks so much for this opportunity to change my life around and give me the confidence that I never had! I'm so happy with what I have accomplished and am proud that my hard work has paid off as I'm one of the winners!

Thanks again, Andrew Devine

So happy with the results!! Down to 179 lbs. from 204 lbs. on 12/31/16. I think I look younger in my after photo's as well as more shredded and even more muscular. Has been an awesome experience!!

In starting this challenge, my goal was 2 different things: to burn body fat, and gain lean muscle. Having done Scott's challenges before, I knew I was in for a real challenge to compete with all of the other awesome people on this site. There were days I didn't want to get up and go to the gym, or days i didn't want to do cardio, even days I didn't want to continue my new nutrition style, but I did it! I started a ketogenic nutrition style, which I am continuing to this day. Some would say "diet", I say nutrition style because I am not thinking short term achievement and then back to the old way, I am thinking long term change for the better. Long term change for healthier and brighter skin, leaner body, and better health overall.

In this challenge, I did completely new workouts and pushed harder than ever before. And the results showed that for themselves! I have done several of the muscularstrength.com challenges, and finished as a runner up or even a finalist, so I wanted to take it to an even higher level this time! So I kicked it into high gear and man was it tough at first but, as always, I began to get addicted to the results! I think it was great that Scott has such amazing challenges, and takes the time to read, respond, and motivate the nation! I trust his instruction and guidance more than anyone in the fitness industry because of how sincere and well educated he is in the fitness world!

For those who don't know, I was once 250lbs and I was determined not to go back to that once I got an office job. I had lost about 75lbs when me and my 3 small kids went through a very rough financial patch, which would sometimes lead to me not eating so there would be enough food for my kids. Though the weight was lost, I was so unhealthy still. I started working out at the end of 2012, and seriously committing myself in February 2014. It was difficult because I was diagnosed with 2 herniated discs in my lower back, which made even walking upright or standing up from a sitting position nearly unbearable. Today, I don't even have pain at all in my back, lower or otherwise. Only pain is DOMS when I have an amazing back workout, but that soreness is what I look forward to!

As a father of 3, full time college student, full time HR professional, and (for a while now) a full time gym rat with physique and heath goals that only come with commitment, I really have no time to fit all of this in. However, I have gotten pretty good at MAKING time to get things done, and done well. I want to show my kids, and I believe I have so far, that no matter what life throws at you, and what you think may be impossible at the time, you can always change your life when you dedicate everything you've got to doing so. I am at a point in my life that I never thought I would be, never thought was possible! I never imagined I would have been interested in the gym, or prepare and walk the stage for a physique show, compete in several online transformation challenges and do well, push myself so much that it motivates others to begin their own journeys, and have my kids tell me how proud they are of me and that they want to be "strong" like me when they get bigger. Biggest compliment in the world! Thank you, Scott, for providing great motivation, amazing content, awesome challenges, and most of all, for being such a great person who is so dedicated to helping others!

So I’m 6’5” tall and last year around this time I only weighed 170 lbs, pretty light for someone as tall as I am. I’ve gone to the gym on and off over the years, sometimes only one day week, sometimes 3 days a week, but never really made any real gains and I’ve always been unsuccessful at putting on mass. Around the start of May last year I came across Scott’s meal plan video (which was actually the very first video of Scott’s I watched and how I learned about this site)and finally figured out how important calorie surplus is for gaining mass, or should I say I actually made an effort to eat enough for once. From May to December I managed to bulk up from 170 lbs to 186 lbs. This was great and I was happy with my progress but I was definitely putting on more fat than I wanted to so at the start of the year I decided to join the 12 week challenge to try and add a little more definition to my body. My goal has still been to bulk but I have been trying to go for more lean gains and bring that body fat down a little. Over the course of the challenge I managed to go up another 6 lbs and I am currently at 192 lbs. Even with the extra mass I think my body looks much leaner than it did before.

I have really enjoyed the 5-day bodybuilder split routine, the 5 day routine fit very nicely into my weekly schedule. But oh man... those burn sets… I have never had a routine as intense and tiring as this. In fact, I often don’t have a plan at all… this alone contributed to much more productive workouts. But my body has definitely adapted to the routine over the 3 months, I can recover much more quickly, my forearms are no longer on fire the entire time, and even though I had to drop the amount of weight when I started I have been able to bring it back up.

I’m excited to switch things up now that the challenge is done and try a different routine. Hopefully give my muscles a little shock now that they are getting used to this one. I also plan on cutting over the next few months. This is something I have never tried before, mostly because I never felt like I had any weight to spare. But after everything I’ve learnt from Scott and everyone here I believe I can do this efficiently without losing my gains. This challenge has really sparked a new passion for fitness and given me a taste of what hard work, determination, and patience can do. My eating habits have changed a lot and I’m now an expert at baking chicken and cooking sweet potatoes! I’m very excited to see what comes next!

Doing this 90 Day Challenge has re-energized me more than Scott knows, and his responses have kept me on track. In January I purchased new pants for a wedding that was on April 1st, and I could not even button the pants when I bought them. But, I knew that with Scott’s motivation (and this group), I would be able to drop the weight, as I have, and fit into them. I went to the wedding looking pretty danged good, and of course, ate up all the compliments….hahahaha. I am back to walking around with my head held high (well, some would refer my walk to be cocky again….LOL) and not ashamed to take my shirt off at the pool.

Hoping now that this challenge has completed, to stay on course, continue my routine and stay in shape as best I can.

I starter my fitness journey back in February 2016. That’s were I’ve reach my heaviest, I was 316 pounds. After a lot of reading and listening to videos, I’ve completely changed my lifestyle. I started following my macros and added weight lifting and cardio to my routine. In January 2017, I saw the challenge posted on your website and decided to give it a try. I was looking to improve my endurance and my strength. I decide to follow your 12-week home program because I was travelling a lot for my work and your workout were perfect since I had limited access to weights and machine. Your routine was hard and did push me to my limit but I’ve always felt super good after finishing your 20 minutes’ workout. I’m so glad I decided to take this journey. Your program helped me loose those last few pounds. I’ve started the challenge at 203 pounds and I’m now down to 182 pounds. I have way more endurance and my weight lifting capability have also improved. Thanks again Scott for what you helped achieve, I will continue my journey and follow all your great tips.

It has been quite a wild ride! I have been training without stop! And finally I got the chance to publish my photos from January 29 and February 19. I'm feeling amazing, I feel more powerful and on my daily life I can see the benefits.

I'm not gonna lie, I haven't done the program 100% perfect, there have been days when I'm too weak to wake up at 6am to go to the gym, so on those days I changed to the home workouts, especially on Legs day. The Push and Pull days are the ones I haven't missed, but because of time constraints there were days when I couldn't finish the Abs portion, so I compensate doing some Abs on cardio days too.

Overall, up to today, I would grade my training with an 7.5. There is still a lot of potential to unlock, I need to work on my issue with waking up early (It is REALLY tough for me!) and also my nutrition. It is not an excuse but during the first month I had trouble filling my macros, thankfully the past few weeks I have been able to eat properly, and also I started to drink Protein Shakes since week 4 (One tablespoon per day). My dad gave the chance to buy it, and I have been feeling pretty good since then, nevertheless I do my best to get as much as possible from food.

This challenge really help me to break plateaus in my fat loss. I trained a lot in the past but I was never able to go under 12% body fat. Since 3 months, I put more attention in my calorie intake and I put everything in MyFitnessPal and I do more cardio session in the evening.

It is not easy all the time to stay on the track and go to trained at 5am but I come every day on this site to help me to stay motivate. Read the comments of the other guys with the same goals and Scott was really helpful. My weight 196 to 186 (now 184)

My body fat 12% to 10%
In same time, my lifts went up:
Bench 265 to 315
Back squat 355 to 405
Rack pull 585 to 815!!

The Cheat n recovery method is a game changer in my training, I gain a lot with that!
