I am currently following a beginner's program that incorporates full-body three days a week. In between work-outs, I perform HIIT or sprints; on rest days, yoga. I have a dilemma as I can not determine whether I am intermediate or beginner. I have never been formally coached on compound lift form but feel comfortable performing them after watching numerous tutorials. Anyway, the work outs are underwhelming and when I attempt to up the intensity, my form weakens and/or am unable to reach my desired rep range. I guess what I am trying to say is I don't know how to reach my goals or whether my current program is a waste of time. My goal is to add size and become aesthetic. Should I ditch this program and do something different? If so, what do you recommend? What should I focus on? Can you please give me tips and guidance?

I'm 20, going on 21, 5'8, 160lbs. My calories are 2600 with 214g protein, 225g carbs and 80g fat, roughly.

Please advise.

Hey man.

How long have you been following this program for? It's goo to switch things up from time to time, about every 6-8 weeks, and if you have been using this as a beginner, maybe it's time to move onto a different kind of split.

Have you looked at any of the 12 week programs? The Push, Pull, Legs might be a good place to start. That would kind of ease you off the full body split nicely, and you can see how your body responds to more volume and similar frequency for each body part. Plus the strength training for the compound movements at the start of each workout will help you push past your plateaus.

Thoughts?
