This summer I really started seeing size/strength gains. I have lifted regularly for years and have had no issues. I got pretty aggressive with my routines and progressive overload. Then one day started to have pain in my elbows esp. my left tendon. Had to pull back for a better part of a month. I lost strength, energy, and threw off my whole routine. I am 29yrs old. 5'9" athletic build. Very frustrating!!!

Any advice on how to prevent this?

If it happens again how can i get back to the gym faster?

I have endured the same issue this year in my right elbow. I actually bought some elbow braces online, which help a ton. I have been able to go back to heavier lifting. While the pain itself doesn't ever seem to totally disappear, I think it's just a part of training. I tend to stay away from the more painful movements, finding others that are more bearable. No pain, no gain, that's the mindset I tend to stick by for now. That's just my two cents though...

Tennis Elbow seems to be pretty common in Fitness. Although it's best to consult with a doctor especially if it's severe. Sometimes you just got to deal with it if it's not too extreme but having a brace, doing certain "forearm" stretches, and heat can be your friend. You really don't want to keep pushing it too much or you'll be down longer. It also helps to come up with different exercises that don't irritate it and do those while you get to healing and you won't miss out on your training.

I have been training coming up on 6 years and have made some great gainz. I've done a lot of trial and error on myself as well as learned from others and through research online. I've come along way in strength and size since I've started. I will continue to learn and make myself better each day.
