Do you have the genetics of a GOD? Or are you just a lowly human on the grind day in and day out like the rest of us?

Erica and I teamed up with MuscleGenes to literally see what we are made of. When you purchase a gene testing kit, it comes with a swab that you rub up and down the inside of your cheeks. MuscleGenes then analyzes the cheek cells to determine your genetic make-up over a wide scale of genes that directly relate to your health, nutrition and training. In this video Erica and I discuss our gene results in relation to:

  • Power & Muscle Fibers
  • Training Volume
  • Insulin Function
  • Recovery
  • Ability To Lose Fat
  • Ratio Of Fuel Usage
  • Testosterone Response

Extremely interesting stuff Nation! We think you are going to be very surprised when you hear our results!

However, I was heartbroken to finally know the truth that I do in fact have ordinary human genes and not kick ass Saiyan genes… Haha

If you are interested in testing your genes, you can find more information at www.MuscleGenes.com

Dude!!! This is so freaking awesome. I want this so bad. Being a newbie to lifting this would be a good time to understand my genetic makeup to determine my best approach for my goals. It's a wonder what ur physique would be had u stuck to high volume this whole time Scott. Great vid! Looking forward to seeing urs and Erica's future results.

I wouldn't worry Scott. With your diet, training regiment, and consistency I am confident you still have gained the maximum amount of muscle you can get naturally. Your body still grows from training it is just the speed at which it will grow that is affected by your type of training, in my opinion. You probably still gained a 1/2" or an 1" of new muscle but it just took longer than if you stuck with high volume training :-)

Ok, since you invited, here I am. ;p

Here are some of my questions:

- Is it true they give you recomendation on rest intervals between sets?

- They say you have to complete form after you pay up, can you give us some details on that?

- Do you have to specify one, and only one goal (endurance/mass/strength/power/fatlose) that you will be provided specific recomendations based on your genes?

Guess thats it (for now) ;p

So, thx for info on MuscleGenes, and keep up good work!

hey hey @Kobra!

1) Yes, based on your answer for your goal in question 3 they will provide those recommendations.

2) The form is basically a lifestyle questionaire. You will be asked questions about your personal life and gym life. Some basic questions to give MuscleGenes and example of what daily life is for you and what your goals are

I hope you do check out the kits. You are going to love it!

Thx Scott,

MG wasnt available to buy for some time, I see its back now, and as I understand it I can buy test alone for 90

Or I can buy GTS Chalange http://gtschallenge.com/get-upgraded/buy.html for £159.92

Kinda confusing, guess I'll go for test alone for now

The new pricing is $100 for DNA test then $100 more (two payments of $49.95) for gts challenge (gts=genetic training system, last 8 weeks/2 months). They don't give much results (nothing useful imo) for price of test, just a few of your results but nothing telling you how to train, eat, etc. Like Scott's video.

I upgraded to gts, supposed to include coaching, nutrition plan, and training plan based on genectics. Hopefully it will teach me and not just be open ended never explaining my recovery, training volume, macros, etc...

On my results. I am iron man... lol not.

I have more of an endurance type genectics make up, though I also have some genes that is strength spectrum. I'm "efficient" in switching between fat and carbs and tend to have middle ground metabolism. I build strength and size evenly, though I'm more likely to build strength over size. And that's pretty much all I know. Hope gts brings with it more info and not just a blind "plan".

Hey @tonyp56 sounds like we have very similar DNA.

Keep me posted on your results and plan and if you need anything let me know. I always like giving critique to my friends over at MuscleGenes. #HTH

Well it took me a while but I finally got my results! So exited!

Aparently i was doin pretty much exactly the oposite to what i supose to ;p

Although I agree results could be more indepth (I still dont know if I have more slow or fast-twitch fibers... I'm supose to use 8-15 reps and sometimes go lower).

Already after my first upgraded workout and first HIIT sesion (painfull - but i never did any endurence work ;p ). And i think Ill finally do something about my nutrition.

I dont know, but i think i've never been so motivated.

Thx again for telling me about MG Scott!

Scott I am disappointed in my muscle development it seems stagnant. I am 65 yrs old and weight 205 lbs. I have been weight training for 2+ years and see only minimal gain in my bicepts and chest. As we all get old we have to deal with arthritis and other injuries.  I would like to try the 12 day shred to get started with your advice. Is this a good start for older people. I would also like some advise on which whey proteins are good to buy. I currently use JYM Pro but as I am not a true bodybuilder I think this may not be for me because it is mostly casein and maybe I should just stick with WPI. I always workout in the mornings as I am retired and have plenty of time to exercise.

Please help me. Thanks

Whey protein isolate: 7.5

Micellar casein: 7g

Milk protein isolate: 7g (5.5g casein, 1.5g whey)

Egg albumin: 2.5g

As long as you work at your own pace, you can definitely do the PPL and if you have questions make sure you ask them on the comment sections of the routines a sI answer those daily.

As for protein... it doesn't matter as long as you get in all your macros for the day. Have you started with the meal plan app yet? Also, check this video out.
