Scott,

I just started noticing today that my knee on the inside front is feeling stiff and uncomfortable when walking or bending my knee. I tested it out with some simple lower body exercises and the knee started hurting when I did a reverse lung.

I just started month 2 of the 12 week challenge.

Do you have any suggestions for some work arounds on lower body day or recommendations for some substitute routines for me to avoid the lower body for a few weeks but still keep the hard work up?

I would say some really simple movements, such as quad extensions with not weight. Just sit on a bench and do maybe 2-3 sets of 15-20 reps of extensions. That is, if it doesn't cause you any pain.

As for suggesting some work around exercises, it's hard to say. Is it onyl the reverse lunge where you feel pain, or every leg exercise?

Also, have you been to see a sports therapist about the pain you are having?

The pain only just started yesterday and only when I do Lunges as far as I can tell. When walking it more just feels tight, like if you can imagine the muscle or tendon stretching but the not wanting to release when straightening the leg.

Definitely keep an eye on it then. See a professional if you need to.

If you can't do the lunges in the workout, just try something that's not going to put the weight of your entire body on one leg. A goblet squat would be an OK alternative, for example.
