I just found a tiny little thing on the inside of my right calf. It's hard, but it doesn't stick out. When I press down on it, it feels like some sort of burning/stinging pain. Never noticed it before and I can't really find anything about it on the internet. I can feel the shape of it. It's almost like the shape of a vein or something. Any ideas what it is?

Robert,

It sounds like a lipoma - a non-cancerous fatty deposit. I have one now in my back and have had them in the past as it runs in my mother's side of the family. It is a simple out-patient procedure to have them removed. It may also be a benign cyst of some sort. Either way as William stated earlier, best to see a dermatologist or your GP just to confirm and then have it removed if it is causing pain.

Sometimes they form near nerves just under the skin or deeper inside thus causing discomfort when pressed. I had one in my shoulder when I was younger that did this and I had it removed.

Hmmmm.... It could have been some cramped muscle fibers that eventually smoothed themselves out.

Yeah, maybe.

I'll update this forum post if anything else happens. Thanks John!
