Hey guys, so I am trying to find some healthy foods to eat. I've done research on a bunch of different kinds of foods to see what foods fit with which category (fats, proteins, carbs). I am trying to gain muscle but also really tone my body. I was wondering if any of you can give me a short list of some really healthy fats, carbs and proteins?

Matt,

Healthy Fats = Oily fish (Tuna, salmon, mackeral, sardines), whole eggs, olive oil, coconut oil, nuts, flaxseed meal, avocado, butter

Healthy Proteins = Whole eggs, skinless chicken breast, turkey, fish, low-fat milk and cheese, lean red meat, beans, tofu

Healthy Carbs = Brown rice, 100% durum pasta, 100% whole wheat bread, quinoa, all whole fruits and vegetables, sweet potatoes

Foods to Avoid:

Cold cuts, deli meats, bacon, white rice, white bread, white potatoes, any processed foods, fruit juices, sodas (diet or regular), french fries, pastries, cakes, white pasta, processed and man-made sugars (in all processed foods), energy drinks, flavored waters, fast food, pizza, canned pasta sause, canned fruits or vegetables, etc.

In other words, if it doesn't occur naturally in nature and you don't prepare it yourself from scratch, avoid it :-)

Just use some of the foods John suggested. For example...

Nuts are a great and easy snack. Hard boil some eggs and snack on them. Buy small (or big) cans of tuna and eat them inbetween meals. Have a pottle of yoghurt. Eat a piece of fruit. The list goes on and on really. Just snack on whatever if convienient for you (but is healthy too!)
