I am 17 years old and a junior in high school. Current weight is about 165 and height is 5'9".I have been lifting since 7th grade, and everything I've done up to this point has been bodybuilding/powerbuilding focused. My main goal is hard muscle devolpment, but I also have strength goals. I have proper nutrition and supplementation in place. I was thinking about switching it up and doing a powerlifting program for a couple months to gain strength and see how I like it in general. Does anyone have any suggestions on a program to start with? The last program I did was push/pull/legs and was a 5 day a week split. But, for this program, due to school and schedule, I need a split that is no more than 4 days a week. Thanks.

Were you using the 12 week Shred challenge? If you were, why not transfer to the 5-day muscle building split that I made after the 12 week challenge. We could easily cut it down to 4 days to fit your schedule - for example you could do legs all in one session, then do shoulders, traps and abs together, or you could just add the ab workout onto the end of two others.

And depending on your specific strength goals, you could add a reverse pyramid compound exercise first up instead of a burn set.

Thoughts?

So it would be the same style as we used in the 12 week program with the compound movements - start with a set with higher reps, and work down to low reps.

For example it was 7,7,6,4,3..so you could use that, or maybe change it slightly and go 7,5,5,3,3. Either of those kind of schemes would work, or anything that has you starting with a higher number of reps and working down to a low number.
