So nation what's your favourite movement for power/explosiveness?

Deadlift. I believe this is the ultimate display of full body strength as you can't be spotted (like squats and benching) as it is just you and the weight - you either lift it or you don't. It also fully incorporates all the muscles in the body and you can't really use momentum to help you. People can bounce bars off their chest when benching or bounce in the lower portion of the squat. You can't do any of that with a deadlift.
John
Yeah the deadlift is pretty good, but I think the squat has it's place as the ultimate power movement too in my opinion.

Yea, i think also on deadlift. Tap and go deadlifts without reset can activatev you more then doing them with reset each rep.. What's your thoughts on cleans and snatches?
Hey nation! I need some help/ guidance For almost three weeks ive been following Mike Rosa's Compound corruption ( great programme btw). Everything has been going great, but for the past two weeks ive been stuck on a 325 deadlift... I attempted 335 but failed on lock out last week, and then only got it a few inches off the ground. (I was using a inzer belt and am pretty sure I was wearing it right).... I think I need to work on the explosiveness off the ground and need to do deficits.. Now my question is do I go up on weight, or increase the defecit im pulling off of to get off the ground faster?
Actually you are better of not doing tap and go deadlifts, because when you do that it's a little bit like using momentum. If you stop at the bottom of each rep, you have to re-engage your muscles (like your glutes, hamstrings, core, lower back) to get the weight back up.
Cleans and snatches are also good power movements, no doubt.
Jordan
Hey man.
I would increase the weight you are lifting and keep the deficit the same. Though that also depends on how big a deficit you are currently using.
Have you seen this video?

Yeah i have. I actually did defecits today and went up to 275x2 and it felt pretty good i just think i had an off day when i tried 335. I tried it three times on the same day. Failed on lockouy the first time, only got it a couple inches off the ground the second time, didn't even clear it off the ground third time. Got so pissed i walked out of the gym lol

Keep working at it man, you will get there! Patience and hard work is key!
Definitely throw in some rack pulls to your routine too if you struggle on the lockout.
Tear it up! #HTH
Also if you dont mind watching the video I posted the other day? Its a squat video and I wanted a form check from the natty nation
OK I had a look. It's tough to say exactly how your form was from front on, a side angle would be better to get a look at your back.
Your depth looked pretty good though! Keep pushing it man, that weight will go up in no time!
