I don't think it will mess with your hormones @Mortalblood, a lot of people carb cycle...

...A whole bunch of crap food could potentially mess with them in the long run though. If you are doing IIFYM, you have to realise you probably won't get all of your micronutrients, therefore your macros won't be properly absorbed and won't work properly.

Think more of your nutrition as "weekly calorie and macro intake" and not so much as "daily calorie and macro intake".

Once you start thinking like this, you ll see it doesnt matter.

What matters is that you eat an average of 150grams of carbs a day. This is about how your body thinks :)

Bojan,

It is more important to know what you crave. Cravings are the result of the body being undernourished at either the macro or micro level. A healthy appetite, especially due to lifting, is not craving food. Are there specific foods or types of foods you find yourself craving? IIFYM can lead to cravings because as I have outlined before it may meet caloric and macro counts but it rarely if ever meets micronutrient and nutrition counts.

As for your hormones, too much processed foods and simple and man-made sugars will affect both your insulin and growth hormone levels. It will also interfere with optimum testosterone production. Having these foods occassionally, and I emphasize "occassionally, will not cause any harm.

Nothing wrong with a peanut butter sandwich @Mortalblood!

If you are doing IIFYM with clean foods, well...that isn't really IIFYM haha. IIFYM is where you use things like donuts, pop tarts, chocolate, lollies, soda etc. etc. to fill your daily macros. Basically all the yum food that is bad for you would be IIFYM :P

If you think peanut butter is bad, you have nothing to worry about! I LOVE PB, and have you seen this article? http://muscularstrength.com/article/Four-Reasons-To-Eat-Peanut-Butter ... Sounds like your diet isn't as bad as you think...

As for your protein question, 10g more or less than your target is fine. It's no big deal at all. If you really want to, eat 10g extra carbs if you miss 10g of protein or something.

The penut butter i use says 90% penuts vegtable oil and salt and the bread i use is processed bread but has alot of fibre

Total Fat 2.1 g 3%
   Saturated Fat 0.4 g 2%
Cholesterol - 0%
Sodium 328 mg 14%
Carbohydrate 33.1 g 11%
   Sugars 2.5 g
Dietary Fibre 6.8 g 27%
Protein 6.2 g

thats the breads nutrition

Bojan,

Again, this is how processed food and simple carbs sneak up on you. You want to eat 100% peanut butter. The ingredients should say "peanut butter" and nothing else. Vegetable oils are high in Omega 6 fatty acids which are pro-inflammatory. Unless you are eating an equal amount or more of Omega 3 fatty acids from oily fish, flaxseed,or whole eggs, you are going to damage your cardio-vascular system as you age. The fiber in the processed bread has been processed. They usually use guar gum or some other ingredient as opposed to the natural fiber in the wheat. You can't take something out of the whole wheat then throw it back in later and expect the same nutrition. Processed bread, regardless of what fiber they say it has, is still processed which means it gets converted to sugar in your mouth and spikes your insulin. Better to get 100% peanut butter and eat it with 100% whole wheat bread. The stores have it if you look for it. They will be a bit more expensive but your health is worth more than skimping on price :-)
