Hi All

I have been training for 2 weeks now and enjoy it.  But i need to know whats is the best.

I am doing the following 4 excersises amongst others but need advice for sets and reps.

Chest press 3x12 at 12.5kg

Shoulder Perss 3x12 at 12.5kg

Lat Pull Downs 3x12 at 20kg

Pec Deck machine 3x12 at 10kg which i find hard and cant always do.

Now what I tried yesterday was this

Chest press 5x5 at 20kg

Shoulder Perss 5x5 at 20kg

Lat Pull Downs 5x5 at 20kg

Is it best to do high weights at lower reps  or lower weights at more reps

All of my workouts are between 12.5kg and 20kg over 3x12.

Please could someone help me with my question.

Many thanks

Ian

Hey Ian, your workout seems spotty at best. Why not do my Push, Pull, Legs program. It is perfect for you and you will see lots of gains quick. Take a look and let me know. Also, is there a reason why you didn't try it yet?

Hi Scott

Thank you so much.  I never understand what weight i need to start with.  The reason i have not tried is because of my instructor at the gym i joined.  Because im not that strong i just dont understand what my starting weight should be.

Thank you for your help.

Just lift as heavy as you can with proper form my friend! If you do the Push, Pull, Legs program you can watch the videos where I explain every exercise, so once you know how to do them all, you can practice with different amounts of weight until you find a weight you can use where you get the reps you need from each set :-)
