Hello guys

I am looking at two different supplementations:

BCAA 2:1:1 400g Cola

and

Syntha-6 Edge, 20 servings, Chocolate Milkshake

I was just wondering if its okay to take both of these? I dont want to feel like I have Co just dump all kinds of things into my body to make nice gains if its not even necessary. Currently, I am only taking Creatine, but I wanted to add something else. Since I dont know which one to pick or if I should pick both, I'm asking you guys. Should I take one of them, or both? If I take both, i'll be taking 3 supplements daily. It will be:

Creatine - 1 serving a day

BCAA - 2/3 servings a day

Syntha-6 - 2/3 servings a day

To me, it sounds like a bit too much, but let me know your opinions.

Danny,

BSN Syntha-6 already contains BCAAs as it is a complete whey protein. Using additional BCAAs is advisable if you do intermittent fasting and fasted training like I do as they are used to protect muscles from being used as fuel during lifting with very low glucose levels. They also uniquely stimulate muscle growth via protein synthesis directly in the muscle - especially Leucine.

In my opinion, I would use the BSN Syntha-6 if I could not afford multiple supplements. If I can afford more than one, then I would do the BCAAs and the Syntha-6. I personally am not a fan of creatine and I don't think it is needed if you eat enought meat and train intensely. Some people swear by it but I am not a fan of supplements that should be cycled - used, then not used, then used - as is recommended with creatine. For natural athletes, the supposed gains in strength and muscle volume are not worth the price. For those using chemical assistance or power lifters/strength athletes, it probably provides more benefit......just my opinion.

Agreed. And BCAAs are best used when cutting since the calorie intake will be lower so will the total amino acid ratio be, hence why adding a BCAA supplement is a good idea. But while bulking I personally dont see the point (well at least there is less of a point in using it with a caloric surpluss) in using it since the calorie intake will be quite high it will cover all the amino acids.

You've got two good responses so far.

I would say look at the Syntha-6 first, but only if you aren't getting enough protein already. If you aleady have enough protein, you don't really need it. BCAAs would then be your next option, but again, it's really only if you want to. If you're cutting, and/or training fasted, like John said, they will be helpful.

If you can afford both, and you want both, then go for it, nothing wrong with that. Using all three supplements in one day isn't too much at all.

As for creatine, you don't actually have to cycle on and off it. Just take 5g a day, every day.
