So, I'm starting to see a good increase in weight (started working out 2 months ago). My arms, back, chest, etc are all getting visably bigger, which is great and my goal is to gain weight by working out. I've so far gained 4 kg. There is just one thing that is annoying me, and thats my belly.

I'd like a six-pack please!

So, at the moment I have no stomache orineted exersize in my routine. My question is, should I do a day of cardio or should I add 4x15 situps to my Back/Triceps day? If cardio, then when is it most appropriate to add it?

I am afraid that adding too much cardo will drain what calories I need and can consume. The six-pack is not the most important thing right now, but I often feel like I have more energy than I need, like right now I could probably go for a 30 minute jog just because im bored, and I wouldn't mind going for a run if it helps me gain a six-pack up in this lifting mix :)

My body fat is +-10% total, or so says my bathroom weight and my calculations.

The most important thing is that I don't mess up my weight ganing scheme, I'd like to reach 70 KG by next summer if possible, and im very close to 60 right now, but I don't want to reach next summer with this belly. My plan has been to do this weight gain thing, building muscle first, and then start doing cardio after new years sometime, but this spare energy I have feels so wasted if it could be put to use without limiting muscle development.

Ill shut up now, I think you get my drift :)

Congrats on the progress. It's stuff like that that keeps me motivated. If your goal is building muscle then 2-3 30 min bouts of cardio will do you good a week. I do mine after my workout if I still have energy or I hit it later in the day. Some believe while cadio has its benefits it isn't truly needed unless you are cutting and trying for single digit bf. When building muscle you will gain fat which is why people try to lean bulk which means as little fat as possible. Cardio now would help you keep the fat increase minimal. In most cases you either build muscle and some fat or burn fat while maintaining muscle although with the right diet and routine you can build muscle and burn fat but it's harder. You can work abs 2-3 times a week and it really doesn't matter when or what muscle groups to be honest. If you really want that 6 pack and build muscle then calculate your macros if you haven't already. Good nutrition and a solid routine is what you need. You can even bulk for muscle gain during the winter and cut for low bf during the summer which I believe many like to do.

I have been training coming up on 6 years and have made some great gainz. I've done a lot of trial and error on myself as well as learned from others and through research online. I've come along way in strength and size since I've started. I will continue to learn and make myself better each day. Yeah it's a bit of a cliche, but it's true - abs are made in the kitchen. You need to have that diet on point.

What are your current macros? Those are crucial.

Also, if you are going to do cardio, make sure it is AFTER your workouts, and try and do some HIIT 2-4 times a week for about 15-25 minutes.

I wouldn't get too hung up on what the scale reads for your weight. Im assuming that you want to have a decent amount of muscle and look good for next summer since you set a goal like that. Instead, focus on building areas you want to improve, and then 12-14 weeks before summer, start to shred down. No matter what your weight is, you're still gonna look great. After all, what do you care more about, being happy with how you look in the mirror, or what the scale says? Great job so far man, keep killin it!

Yup, thanks guys. I calculated my macros when i started, they are on the forums somewhere and were corrected as well back then, I'll see if I can find them. But in short, what I do these days is eat 2-3 eggs on bread each morning whit a protein shake in milk. When I work i also eat lunch (if not im up so late that it wouldnt make sense and I just eat 3 instead of 2 eggs but no more bread) Dinner is what i get from the missus (this can be anything from spagheti in ground meat to tacos, to fish, chicken stuff..you name it). We eat dinner at around 4-5 so later that day I refill with more eggs on bread and another shake. So i ususally hit my macros pretty good.

I will add some jogging later in the day after the workout, or during my workout at the end. If it turns out not to be enough and I dont see any results after a month or two, I'll have to revise my meal plan but to be honest I'm not really moving much at all these days ("vacation" from june to mid september) and I think it will help. Just wanted to check if it was a bad idea keeping my main goals in mind :)

Yeah man it's all about trying one thing, seeing if it works, then adjusting it to fit your needs.

Sounds like you are on track though, keep it up and train hard! #HTH
