Dexter,
To get the body you want, to make your abs visible " 95% DIET and 5% TRAINING is a MUST ". You should pay atttention to your diet, you must strict to it. Your hard work in ab workout will do nothing if you don't eat well ( CLEAN DIET). When we say Clean diet, you are about to avoid shitty foods here ( Low carbs and high protein diet).
Lower abs and V-cut shape take time to develop. There's a lot of Scott Videos in youtube to get those abs! Here's a useful article to read : how-to-build-more-visible-and-blocky-abs
To assist you more Dexter, can you give us your MACROS intake daily ( Carbs, protein and fat) and a sample of your picture as well in order for us to determine the size of your stored fat. Thank you in advance.

How's your friend look like? Skinny guy? Is your friend are so much expose in sports? cardio? doing weight lifting? Some people I know are born with good size and genetics.

Dexter,
One word: GENETICS. Some people are born exceptionally lean and with a metabolism and hormone profile that keep them that way in their younger years. It all changes once you get older. One of my best friends was always 8% body fat no matter what he ate or drank. We did train hard and ate good most of the time but we weren't 100% strict with food and we did drink alot on the weekends. Now that he is older, he is no longer lean and is overweight for his height and age. He doesn't train much anymore and has a so-so diet. Regardless, as you age staying lean and muscular is much harder regardless of genetics.

AS already pointed out, your friend is probably benefitting from some good genetics at the moment, but if he doesn't train or diet it will eventually catch up with him.
But don't worry about your friend man, worry about yourself! If you want those abs poppin, get your diet in check because your meal plan is crucial for your abs. have you checked out the @mealplan page? Do the calculations to figure out your BMR, then watch Scott's video about building a meal plan.
Given you are after fat loss, you will probably want to eat in a slight caloric deficit of your average calorie intake, focusing on high protein, low carbs, and moderate to high levels of fat.
If you can find out your current macros and list them here, that would make it easier to help you out :)
