Good Afternonn fellow Hermanites,

Im looking for a good pre-workout as after a day out I end up arriving home late, tired and without any motive to train. This routine is killing me as i miss thegym, resulting to nervous breakdowns and feeling pointless and obese yet again even though im counting my macros.

So I thought, maybe as a solution to get me to go to the gym was taking the BSN NO Xplode 3.0 prior to training at abt 8pm in order to give me a pump and the energy to proceed to gym (I generally sleep at like 11-12).

1) Is it a bad idea to take pre-workout at that time?

2) What is ur take on that specific pre-workout, is it efficient and good?

Thanks, looking forward to your replies. :)

David,

I don't use nor endorse pre-workouts. Most of them are just hyper-caffeine drinks with sometimes suspect additional chemicals added. I believe in training your body and metabolism to deliver energy-on-demand. I have never nor would ever use a pre-workout. I may be the exception but I believe and have shown in my own workouts that with proper rest and nutrition they aren't needed.

While i agree there is no substitution for rest. In many situations like mine a pre workout makes all the difference. I have experimented with quite a few pre-workouts as i also workout at night. My current favorite is 5% nutrition kill it, not too high on stims but really good for pumps and can't argue with creatine. Also pre jym is a really good pre, however a little higher on stims, so once and a while i would have a bad time sleeping.

I would say unless you still feel a bit wired and have trouble sleeping, then there should be nothing wrong with that time. If you are having trouble sleeping due to the preworkout, try four hour window prior to sleep instead of your two.
