@Adawg38 I definitely understand what you are saying but, I still don't see the point of consuming creatine supplement on non workout days.

 

I though the point of consuming creatine supplement is to help with immediate energy(ATP) production, by powering the anerobic respiration during a short but intense kind of exercise(ie. power lifting and sprinting).

 

Assuming that aerobic respiration is enough to produce ATP for muscle contraction during a rest day, what would be the purpose of creatine when one is on rest day?

 

Maybe they store the extra creatine supplement in the skeletal muscle during rest day?

The body naturally produces Creatine. Half of your daily stores come from food. Creatine is a supplement and just like protein powders you are using them to get more of what you need daily. You don't necessarily need more creatine like you do protein when training but you do benefit from it. I believe and I'm no scientist and I know studies vary but half of your intake comes from food (meat) which is 1g so in total your body may produce around 2g a day. Creatine doses are usually 5g per day maintenance which is obviously more than your body will produce naturally. So for optimal use of the supplement you want to keep taking it even on rest days, just like protein powders. Even if you have a day off you still want to give your body what it needs for that day. Will it hurt you to not take it on your off days? Probably not but I would since you are using a supplement you want to use it. I will say I don't agree with the preloading phase but that's just me. Take it before your workout and take it on rest days whatever time you choose.

I have been training coming up on 6 years and have made some great gainz. I've done a lot of trial and error on myself as well as learned from others and through research online. I've come along way in strength and size since I've started. I will continue to learn and make myself better each day. Kevin,

 

Yes, the muscle will store the creatine locally like it does glucose for use later. You take protein even on rest days - it is the same with a supplement like creatine.

Okay that explaines why I got weaker after not drining my regular 5g of creatine every morning.
