So, I am working on the Home Shred 3 month workout, and I would like to add a complimentory pre and post workout to the program.  So far, with upper body 1, I began with 3 sets of barbell bench press to failure, then went into the routine, and finished with front squats, 3 sets to failure.  Is this advised?  I want to add opener and closer exercieses to all 3 of the routines.  What would you suggest, Nation?  Goals are to lose fat, and increase endurance and strength.  Working on cutting body fat, and prepare myself for shredding the mountain (snowboarding).

@JamieM I don't see a problem with you adding openers and closers to the routines. but I wouldn't advise doing anything to failure right before you're about to go into a routine. Honestly, you're probably better of sticking with JUST a closer/finisher, because there's no point wearing yourself out before these routines.. as I'm sure you already know.. they are pretty intense as it is haha.

But you could finish with an upper body movement like the bench press on the upper day and front squats on the lower day.. maybe you could go to failure once for each workout per week.. but not every time you train.

Hope that helps!

Makes perfect sense. I've adopted a stretch and warm up pre routine. Jumping jacks, up/downs, shoulder rolls, and the worlds greaest stretch. Taken from your Your HIIT hotel room workout.

Upper body day we finish with barbell bench press. Lower body we finish with front squats. And ab day I finish with dips, my workout buddy finishes with wide grip pull ups.

Nice!! Glad to hear you are warming up too and that they are all dynamic stretches. I talked about that in yesterday's video 😊 Keep training hard bro!!
